The Laowa Nanomorph 28-55mm T2.9 1.5x S35 Anamorphic is a zoom lens designed for cinematographic use, offering a 1.5x anamorphic squeeze factor that produces the widescreen look associated with anamorphic filmmaking, including characteristic horizontal lens flares rendered in blue. The T2.9 constant aperture across the zoom range ensures consistent exposure throughout, while the S35 image circle makes it well suited for Super 35 and APS-C format cinema cameras. The zoom range provides versatility across wide to short telephoto focal lengths without the need to swap lenses on set. As part of Venus Optics’ compact Nanomorph series, the lens is built with a cinema-style housing featuring a front anamorphic element, smooth focus and aperture rings, and a consistent outer diameter to allow for easier use with follow focus systems and lens support accessories. It is mounted in Sony E-mount configuration.
